ha! Its been a whole lot longer than a while!!!
So, what's happened in the time since I last posted? Well, I finished round 2, my first round, of the Michelle Bridges 12wbt and got to ALMOST my ultimate goal which was 58kgs. I got to 59.4. Not too bad I'd say.
I competed in the Western Mudd Rush and had the best time!!! I got muddy, I got wet, I got hay in places hay should never get. I went down a HUUUUGE waterslide when I have a huge fear ofwatersides without breaking the bones in the hand of the woman holding my hand. Thats gotta be a win right?
One week later I competed in the City to Surf 12km fun run. I was hoping to run the whole 12kms in less than 1:12:00. I ran it in 1:08:00. I was so happy. And I felt great. I was absolutely shattered after I finished it but I'm guessing that my fitness had a lot to do with that and had my fitness been better, I'd have ran faster and felt better afterwards.
Then I had a short break where I stupidly dropped my training off. I'd entered the Fremantle Half Marathon (21.1kms) a few days earlier to be ran on October 14th. Instead of stepping up my running and training schedule I dropped it right back. I guess I sort of lost the passion a little. Fast forward to Sunday October 14th and I was NOT looking forward to running the Freo Half. I almost had a panic attack walking to the mustering area but as soon as we were given orders to begin I overcome that. My goal for the Fremantle Half Marathon was to complete it, hopefully without stopping running, in 2:20:00 or below. I thought I was being a little ambitious but left my time to beat as that regardless. The run was amazing. I felt amazing. I felt as though I was at one with the ground and with my running. I crossed the line in the official time of 2:01:11 absolutely blitzing my goal of 2:20:00. I cannot explain the feeling and cannot wait to experience it again! I'm happy to say that the passion is back. Tenfold!!!!
In terms of my weight loss, i'm hovering around the mid 58kgs now and while I'd like to lose another 2 or 3kgs, I'd be happy to stay at this weight too. Im now concentrating on weight training and am up to 30kgs chest press, 40kgs squats and 80kgs legs press. The feeling of doing weights is a totally different feeling I have when I run but its just as addictive.
I'm now down to a sz6 and have virtually no jiggly bits (isnt that every girls dream??)
So, whats next for me? I'll concentrate on my weight training for the next month or 2 then I'll be upping the running training again in preparation for the Busselton Half Marathon on February 9th 2013.
